Valuation Coverage & Insurance Options

Our local and long-distance movers in Florida always prioritize our customers. We work hard to protect and safely move all your items. Trust us to provide you with a seamless relocation that meets your needs and fits your budget. To further protect our customers, we offer several valuation coverage options.

  • Released Value Protection – Liability coverage of $0.60 per pound per article provided at no extra cost.
  • Full Value Protection – Liability coverage with a cap of $100 per article unless high value items are specifically declared for additional valuation coverage.
  • Third-Party Moving Insurance – Liability coverage bought from an outside insurance provider

The first two valuation coverage options can be provided by Safebound Moving & Storage. The third option can only be supplied by a third-party insurer or insurance company that is certified to sell moving insurance.

Our released value and full value coverage can be applied to local, long-distance, and interstate moves. If you want increased protection for specific high-value items, we offer additional coverage and can recommend third-party insurance providers.

Know Your Rights & Responsibilities

According to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, “Movers are prohibited from having you sign a receipt which relieves the mover from all liability for loss or damage to the shipment. Do not sign any receipt which does not provide that you are signing for your shipment in apparent good condition except as noted on the shipping documents.” All moving companies are required to insure their cargo at $0.60 per pound.

If you went with additional coverage or full value protection, be sure to read your Bill of Lading. The liability of your mover will be detailed in that document. As a customer, you have the right to file a moving damage claim within nine months if you notice any damages or missing items during the unpacking process. However, you still have the responsibility to pay for the move within a reasonable amount of time.
